Snickers Mr. T and a Speed Walker Ad Pulled Because of Gay Uprising
When I mentioned the Snickers Speed Walker Ad featuring Mr.T here, I mentioned that I thought the ad might be pulled because of a "speed walker revolt." Turns out I was right - sort of. Instead of speed walkers being offended, Mars was taken to task by The Human Rights Campaign Foundation who found the ad homophobic. Mars agreed to stop airing the spot after discussions between the company and the HRC. I don't really get it - are they saying speed walking is Gay? The offending ad is below. Last month, a Heinz Deli Mayo commercial was pulled for the same reason. You would think companies would learn by now.
