Heinz Deli Mayo Ad featuring a Guy on Guy Kiss Receives More than 100 Complaints
There have been over 175 complaints to the UK Advertising Standards Agency after this Heinz commercial aired on June 18. The ad features a common domestic scene of one parent preparing lunch for the kids while the other parent gets ready to go to work. The goodbye kiss is at the heart of the controversy since both spouses happen to be male. Complaints along the lines of "offensive", "inappropriate" and "unsuitable to be seen by children" have been levied against the commercial. Those parents want no more of this ad, which is scheduled to run for another month. The ASA plans to investigate and then report their "findings" - probably when Heinz has already stopped airing the commercial. My only question is - what's this ad for again? Mayonnaise? First spotted at TVScoop.
