Food Packaging Gone Crazy: Fresh Direct (Still) Wasting Space
Fresh Direct is an online grocer providing fresh foods and popular grocery and household items at incredible prices delivered to the New York area. There has been complaint after complaint about their wasteful packaging, yet they say that since the items are packaged in individual departments from which they are ordered, that it's hard to minimize packaging. Well, I don't think it takes a PhD in Food Science to figure this out. Have the individual departments put the products in re-useable bins and the person(s) who gives the final check of the order put everything together in the packaging. I'm available as a consultant in case it really does take a PhD in Food Science to help you out with this. Photo Credit: SilenceMatters/ Flickr
