Aunt Jemima Has a Rival And Her Name is Vermont Maid

Spotted side by side in the grocery store: Aunt Jemima and Vermont Maid Pancake Syrup. Same design except the black Aunt Jem has been replaced by a white maid - apparently from Vermont, but this product is a "New England" tradition produced by B&G Foods. The copycat design just seems so wrong.

Aunt Jemima and Vermont Maid

Wouldn't you know Aunt Jemima also has a Lite and Butter Lite version - and so does Vermont Maid.

It doesn't really same the same to me, but maybe it's just the picture? The AJ bottle has a handle and a round logo on the neck of the bottle, while VM has striations and no logo or handle. The labels both have pictures of women, but the labels and different colors and shapes, and actually, so are the women :)
